THE COOL TOOL
January 2016
London, UK

This project, called "I'll Take 9" (a collaboration with Nat Martin and Ivy Liang), had a complicated brief: we were given a brand (Stanley) and a product type (an ice tray) and told to make a production run of nine identical pieces. Making nine required a different mindset than making a single prototype: one thing you can fiddle with to make work, but fiddling with nine isn't practical.

COLD BEVERAGES IN NO TIME

A hollow spike inside the top of the cool tool breaks open the can. The beverage then flows through a thin copper pipe that spirals through a reservior of ice. Placing the tool on top of a  pint glass leaves you with a chilled beverage from a warm can.
